Hi, I’m Gracielyn Couture RN BscN.
I am an RN with 5 years of experience in this field. I completed my degree in Cape Breton Nova Scotia. I have worked across Canada in Alberta, Nova Scotia, and Ottawa. Being a military spouse I have moved around a bit!
My experience is in long term care, various operating rooms, and advanced foot care. My first experiences with foot care started during my 3 years in long-term care. I was shocked at how many residents that struggled with managing their foot health and could benefit from assistance. I remember realizing the extreme demand when I asked the team of care aides to make me a list of the residents who needed nail trimming. Out of 31 residents I was handed a list of 27 names.
Working in paediatrics while taking my foot care education opened my eyes to a vast amount of children coming in with ingrown toenails requiring surgery, fungal nails, over grown nails, athletes foot, corns, and calluses. This is when I truly realized and opened my eyes for the demand of medical foot care across the lifespan.
I believe whole heartedly in holistic health care and helping all people in need. My goal is for you to achieve a higher level of health through education and health promotion when you meet me. I am excited to chat with you and help with your individual foot care needs. My mission is to help in an area of high demand in my community and give back to the elderly, disabled, and military community.
